“Hi, my name is Greg and I am powerless over alcohol.” My own journey into recovery started in 1999 when I cried out for help due to family members and employees who were drinking and drugging out of control. I went to my first 12 step meeting to see how I could learn how to help them control their using. What I found has led to a new way of life for me. I quickly determined that my own drinking had done some damage in my life and that it might work better if I committed my life alcohol and substance free. My sobriety date is 1/2/2000. My life has been devoted to helping others learn this new way of life ever since.

I must for time’s sake leave out much of my story and testimony. I will say that since I made a decision my relationship with Christ and others has continued to improve on a daily basis.

In 2006, after dropping off a man fresh out of jail into a “sober” home, I felt almost instantly that I was being called to help men such as this. There needed to be a better option than the dark, vile, God-less living quarters that I was seeing for men to get started on their journey in recovery.

Being involved in Christ-centered recovery through Celebrate Recovery®, I had also came to believe that true recovery must come in knowing and putting all hope in Jesus Christ.

I and my wife, best friend, partner and co-laborer in helping others in recovery built and opened our first Christ-centered recovery home in January of 2008, the “New Way Home.” Our second home built and completed in November 2008 is call the “We Way Home. Our 3rd home built and completed in June of 2009 is the original Away Home (pictured below) expanded.

All three homes were built with our good friend, brother-in-Christ and former ministry partner, Greg Rich. Greg was brand new to recovery in 2007 when we broke ground on the first home. He quickly became not only a trustworthy assistant but a hands on leader of all the homes. His excitement in serving Christ in this ministry was obvious at every level.

In 2010, the work continued as a non-profit ministry. We believe in our heart that this call to serve is including others who we look forward to meeting. Each day we are more convinced that we are just getting started. Join us – it’s a great journey!
